CASC/ASEC Scholarships now available for students!

The Canadian Co-operative Association (CCA), on behalf of the Canadian Association for Studies in Co-operation (CASC), has launched the 2013 CASC scholarship competition.

The scholarships are aimed at supporting and promoting research on co-operatives by university students. Applicants must be Canadian citizens (studying in Canada or abroad) or foreign students studying at Canadian universities. Applicants must be pursuing research specifically related to co-operatives (including credit unions), and must include a description of their research project as part of their application.

The scholarships are funded by the Ontario Credit Union Charitable Foundation, the Co-operative Housing Development of Canada and CCA. They are:

  • The Amy and Tim Dauphinee Scholarship ($3,000 – graduate students only)
  • The Alexander Laidlaw Fellowship ($1,000 – graduate students only)
  • The Lemaire Co-operative Studies Award ($1,000 – for undergraduate or graduate students who are actively involved in co-operatives in a personal capacity and are also conducting research on co-operatives).

The deadline for submitting applications is March 31, 2013.  Submissions in English or in French are welcomed.
