Call for papers and posters: “Rural Canada – Ready to Grow” Conference

The 2013 Canadian Rural Revitalization Foundation (CRRF) annual conference will be held in Thunder Bay, Ontario, 24-27 October, 2013. The conference is being co-hosted by the Nishnawbe-Aski NationEconomic and Resource Development Unit (NAN), Lakehead University, School of Outdoor Recreation, Parks & Tourism and the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association (NOMA).

Also, there will be a Pre-Conference Symposium on the New Rural Economy

This is a call for presentations for a pre-conference symposium on “Revisiting the New Rural Economy” to celebrate the career of Bill Reimer upon his recent retirement from Concordia University. Individuals with research that utilizes the work of the NRE project, supervised by Bill, or in other ways relate to the new rural economy, are encouraged to submit an abstract. Following the symposium a select group of papers will be chosen for a special edition of the Journal of Rural and Community Development.
