Call for Case Studies: Student Co-operative Case Study Competition at CASC

The Centre for the Study of Co-operatives, University of Saskatchewan, and the Canadian Association for Studies in Co-operation (CASC) are sponsoring a student case study competition on June 2, 2015 as part of the CASC meetings held in Ottawa, Ontario Canada on June 2–4, 2015.

Funding for the case study competition is provided by CHS Inc. Invitations to submit applications have been sent to all the universities involved in the Cooperative Education Networking Forum held in Washington, D.C. in June 2014, as well as to Canadian universities with programs in co-operatives.

The Students’ Case Study call deadline is March 30th, 2015.

Apply for 2015 CASC Scholarships!

Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada (CMC) is calling for applications (available in English and French) for the three CASC scholarships administered by CMC:

  • Alexander Fraser Laidlaw Fellowship (graduate students only);
  • Amy and Tim Dauphinee Scholarship (graduate students only);
  • Lemaire Co-operative Studies Award (undergraduate or graduate students).

In addition to the monetary awards, winners of all three scholarships will be awarded a free one-year membership in the Canadian Association for Studies in Co-operation (CASC) as well as free registration at the 2016 CASC conference.

The deadline for applications is March 31, 2015.

Seeking Research and Communications Assistant (summer student)

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: Research and Communications Assistant (Temporary) with Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Research and Communications Assistant (RCA) will work with the Manager of Research and Education to communicate new knowledge about co-operatives and community development. The position will support the major dissemination initiatives of a 5 year research project measuring the impact of co-operative businesses on communities across Canada. The RCA will take leadership in developing web content, supporting the development of webinars, print materials, infographics and other communications materials.
